Results for Development Appoints Heather Luca as Chief Communications Officer and Ryan Noll as Chief People Officer

January 13, 2016

Washington, D.C. — January 13, 2016 — Results for Development (R4D) has appointed Heather Luca as its Chief Communications Officer and Ryan Noll as its Chief People Officer. Luca will be responsible for brand positioning and message development and Noll will be responsible for human resources operations as well as talent acquisition and retention. Luca and Noll will both be based at Results for Development’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The leadership appointments were critical for a young, rapidly growing organization. In the last three years, Results for Development has significantly expanded its portfolio of programs and doubled its annual budget and staff — which are currently about $25M and 100 people.

“We’re delighted to add Heather and Ryan to our management team. Both have a proven track record of creativity and strategic thinking, and they will be instrumental in ensuring the health of Results for Development’s brand and organizational culture as we continue to grow,” said Results for Development President David de Ferranti.

About Luca

Prior to Results for Development, Heather Luca spent seven years at Conservation International where she led several key marketing initiatives, including the launch of a new logo and website, and the development and rollout of the award-winning “Nature Is Speaking” campaign that resulted in more than two billion impressions, four million campaign actions and a four-point increase in brand awareness. Luca has eighteen years of marketing and communications experience with conservation and development nonprofits in the Washington, D.C. area, including ACDI/VOCA and World Learning. Luca holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from Lafayette College.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Results for Development,” said Luca. “It’s a relatively young organization that’s having a big impact on international development, particularly in the health and education sectors. They’re bringing fresh thinking and energy to this space and helping to save lives and lift people out poverty. It’s an amazing brand story and I feel privileged to help Results for Development tell it.”

About Noll

Before joining Results for Development, Noll was a human resources manager for the United Service Organizations (USO) where he focused on improving HR programs, including employee relations, training and development, and workforce planning for over 150 employees located throughout the United States as well as Afghanistan, Kuwait, Djibouti, and the U.A.E. Noll’s experience spans many different types of organizations, from small, rapidly growing companies to large well established ones, and everything from nonprofits to public and private organizations. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Master of Science in Labor Relations/Human Resources from West Virginia University. Noll also has a SHRM-CP HR certification.

“I’m excited to join Results for Development and work with accomplished and passionate individuals whose efforts impact the lives of others on a daily basis,” said Noll. “I look forward to working with the employees to continue building and strengthening the organization.”
